XML in Education

On MIRK 2000 conference an article "How XML simplifies prepairing, display and archive of educational resources" was presented by Sinonim d.o.o.. Below are hyperlinks for materials of that article:

Original paper in Word - 54 K (Word 97 format, summary parts are also in English).

Web page - 17 K (same text).

Conference presentation - (in Slovenian only) requires Windows 95 or newer.

Files:

  1. Word's document for testing purposes.
  2. Word's template with macros.
  3. Converted XML file.
  4. Used XSLT file.
  5. Converted XHTML file.

are not available. For expert consultancy, services and products which use XML technologies please contact Sergej Rinc. Thanks.

Questions, asked on conference, with answers:

  1. Do you have a sample on your page?
    See above.
  2. Can I edit XML files with Front Page (97, 2000)?
Macromedia Dreamweaver 3 is used in Sinonim and it definitely does not "break" the structure of a page being edited. By our tests FP 97 IS NOT suitable but FP 2000 is. In Tools menu, Page Options, HTML tab, check "Preserve existing HTML" option (it is checked by default - so that FP 2000 does not change your code). In Tools menu, Options, Configure Editors tab, you can add a new file type "xml", for a command - which editor is run - copy a command for type "html" e.g. path to FP 2000.
  3. Is there an XML guide available?
Not in Slovenian part of World Wide Web. For additional help we suggest next resources:
